🌿✨ Hub Mexeco Webinar | December 11 – A Meaningful and Successful Gathering ✨🌿

On December 11, the Hub Mexeco webinar took place, becoming a truly successful space for learning, listening, and dialogue, bringing together people and organizations committed to transforming ecotourism from the territories.
We had the honor of welcoming deeply committed voices from Mexico and Costa Rica—leaders of real, living, and transformative community-based projects—who shared their experiences, challenges, and learnings:
🇲🇽 Alejandro Montañez – Co’ox Mayab (Yucatán)
General Coordinator of this union of cooperatives that brings together ten community tourism organizations. He shared insights on regional articulation, conservation, and organizational strengthening.
🇨🇷 Yamileth Soto Méndez – Juanilama Agroecological Association
Representative of a rural community that for over 15 years has been promoting a community-based rural tourism model rooted in agroecology, participation, and the collective effort of 38 families in the territory.
🇲🇽 Irving Barrera Miranda – Costa Magia (Oaxaca / Mexican Caribbean)
Nature tourism specialist, interpretive guide, and facilitator of community processes. He spoke about how to build experiences that connect biodiversity, conservation, and local communities.
🇨🇷 Alejandra Solís Soto – COOPROTOURS (Sarapiquí)
Community leader and president of this cooperative of 28 members, which for more than a decade has been promoting rural tourism, local organization, and community development.
This gathering made it possible to weave shared learning, exchange experiences, and strengthen a network that firmly believes in another kind of tourism—more just, community-led, and in harmony with nature—is possible.
